Я не очень слежу за расследованием папаши Мюллера, но есть общее ощущение, что он ковыряет все какое-то очень косвенное, причем настолько косвенное, что я не представляю себе, какое должно быть его количество, чтобы возникло хоть какое-то качество.

He also said that a supervisor hurled racial epithets at the women and threatened them with deportation to get more work out of them.

И кстати, вышеупомянутый адвокат заявил в телеинтервью (видел это на CNN), что у его клиентов есть документальные свидетельства того, что их работодатели были в курсе нелегального статуса, и они готовы предоставить это в случае проведения любого легального расследования.

А кто такой Торшин? Фигура не политическая, с сомнительным бэкграундом. И вполне мог преследовать чисто личные какие-то интересы - причем тут Россия, как государство?

В гибридно-путинской России, интересы режима (он же государство) могут представлять люди вроде даже формально и не являющиеся госчиновниками - олигархи, мафиози, музыканты. Пригожин например, или Ролдугин.

The event made headlines when 6-year-old Ilana Kattan’s ponytail dipped into the flame. Clinton ran his hands through her hair to snuff out the smoke.

Menorah lightings grew in importance during the Clinton years. Memorably, in 1998, Clinton joined Israel’s president, Ezer Weizman, in lighting a candle on the first night of Hanukkah in Jerusalem. But no White House Hanukkah parties ever took place under Clinton. The first president to host an official White House Hanukkah party, and the first to actually light a menorah in the White House residence, was George W. Bush, beginning in both cases in 2001. Since Bush made a point of injecting religion, complete with baby Jesus, into his many annual Christmas parties — 25 of them in 2005 alone — a separate Hanukkah party for Jews showed sensitivity. The annual Hanukkah party also underscored Bush’s deepening bonds with Orthodox Jews, the Jewish religious stream most sympathetic to his “faith-based” agenda. Hasidic leaders in distinctive garb regularly appeared at these parties, and beginning in 2005 (after an embarrassment in 2004 when kosher and non-kosher foods were mixed up), the parties became completely kosher.

Barack Obama is thus only the second president in history ever to hold a White House Hanukkah party. The fact that he is limiting his guest list to the 400 Jews who are nearest and dearest to him is surely less noteworthy than how much America has changed since Calvin Coolidge lit up the first White House Christmas tree and paid no attention to Hanukkah at all.

Что имеется в виду под "представлять"? Мюллер сможет доказать в суде, что Торшин представлял российское государство, а не действовал в своих личных каких- то интересах?
Это у вас там,возможно, сенаторов можно назвать политиками, а у нас Совфед- это нечто среднее между паноптикумом и кунсткамерой. Никто из наших "сенаторов" не только не принимает политических решений, но даже и не влияет на их принятие. К тому же Торшин последние годы вообще был в ЦБ. Если кто-то из Федрезерва будет пытаться подложить какую-нибудь дрессированную б.... под кого-то из российских политиков - это тоже будет расцениваться, как попытка повлиять на выборы от лица США?

Бутиной занимается не Мюллер.

В России никого из работающих на режим администраторов нельзя назвать политиками, большинство из них ни на что не влияет, но это не означает, что они не могут исполнять задания режима, даже напрямую далёкие от их непосредственной профессиональной деятельности - например, задачи подкупа и коррумпирования западных элит (если имеется возможность выхода на эти элиты - а у Торшина она имелась).

И что? ЦБ это госструктура.
